Since 1959, Lake Shore Boat Top Co. has been serving the Lake St. Clair and Metro Detroit area, by providing a specialized service to the boating community. With office locations in Harrison Township, and Detroit ( Kean's Marina ), the business remains a family operated company, and is owned and operated by Bob and Rob (son) Kotowski. Lake Shore Boat Top Co. specializes in custom boat tops (Bimini), bridge enclosures for both sailboats and powerboats, cockpit covers, convertible top curtains, and custom boat interiors. Rob, having literally grown up in the family shop, and working by his father's side since childhood, is intimately familiar with the needs of customers who seek qualified artisans in the field of boat repair and boat restoration. Both father and son remain zealous boat enthusiasts themselves, enjoying jet skiing and various other water sports.

In recent years, Lake Shore Boat Top Co. has also begun promoting marine carpeting, and numerous other "finishing touches" associated with boat restoration and repair. Current projects include a 42' Catalina Sailboat (new top and accessories), a custom interior and upholstery for a 24' Baja, a bridge cover and seat covers for a 67' Hatteras, and a host of others. In addition to these, the company has branched out, in recent years, into the field of residential and commercial awnings. Whatever the challenge may be, if it entails custom design and industrial sewing, the Kotowski family is ready and able to surpass their customer's expectations.

 

 In a tough 2010 economy, regardless of the project, Lake Shore Boat Top Co. remains committed to customer service, quality materials, precision workmanship, attention to detail, and backs it up with a 1-2 year warranty. The company often confers with their customers one-on-one regarding their specific needs/desires, offering free estimates, and even saves their customer time by traveling to their boat, or allowing the customer to bring their boat to the shop for service.
