For over 60 years, Sindbads, the legendary riverfront restaurant, saloon, and marina, has served the Lake St. Clair community. The restaurant has grown from an old family house to a beautiful facility seating approximately 500 people. Founded by "Buster" Blancke and "Van" Vanhollebeke in 1949, Sindbads remains a family operated business. Denise, Linda, Brian, and Marc Blancke continue to serve their loyal clientele with personalized attention, and a wonderful home-style atmosphere. Sindbad's Restaurant

In 1989, Sindbads opened the Sohar Banquet Room, located on the Restaurant's 2nd floor, which overlooks the Detroit River and Belle Isle. From October thru April, The Sohar Room is available for private parties or any special occasion up to 180 people. From May thru September, The Sohar Room features live entertainment, patio dining, full menu with appetizers, desserts, and cocktails. Also, the Sohar Room is available for business meetings and luncheons year round.

For the year 2010, with its economic uncertainties, the Blancke family is determined to continue serving their diverse clientele, and prosper, by keeping prices low, and serving the finest quality food at moderate prices. Their hearty homemade clam chowder, fresh lake perch, and walleye, continue to be favorites among all who visit. And of course, don't forget their Sunday Brunch, a tremendous value for only $12.95.
