Bob-lo Boat Restoration

images

The famous Bob-lo excursion boat, Ste. Claire, is in the process of being restored to its former glory.  Generations of Detroiters enjoyed the trips to Bob-lo Island.

FEBRUARY 2010 RESTORATION UPDATE

Currently, the foyers are having all the layers of paint removed from the outer walls. Amazingly, the wood underneath is in excellent condition. The next two months will focus on both the second and third deck foyers. The main deck cabins are about 75% completed. All the rust has been removed and the metal walls have been primed. The goal of 2010 will be to get the main and second decks ready for the return of the Ste. Claire to the Detroit waterfront to celebrate her 100 year anniversary!! Thank you for all your support and hope to see you down at the ship.

Thank you,
Ron Kattoo

For a donation of $100.00, you will receive a season pass to ride the Ste. Claire any time during her first year of operation as many times as you would like. Alternatively, for a $100.00 donation, your name will be placed on a plaque that will permanently be placed on the main deck of ship in honor of those who helped bring the Ste. Claire back to life.

If you would like to have a part in the effort to restore and return to service the Bob-Lo Boat Ste. Claire your donation in any amount would be most appreciated. Help us to save a National Historic Landmark and an important part of our maritime history at:  www.bobloboat.com
