Family Fun in the Fall on Lake St. Clair
The weather is turning. The feeling of the sun warming the skin has now been replaced with the cool of the crisp air reminding us that socks are once again necessary. But just because our days at the pool have come to an end for this year, it doesn’t have to mean that our days at Lake St. Clair have. It turns out there are several activities for our families to enjoy at the water this fall. So don’t hit the sofa just yet.
Metro parks (http://www.metroparks.com/calendar.aspx?M=10&Y=2011) has a calendar of events that has something for everyone. Metro Beach located on Metro parkway in Harrison Township offers activiites including nature walks, bird seeing, family nature clubs, campfire nights, rock climbing even Halloween family fun.
If you're willing to brave the cold water, the Clinton River is waiting to be canoed. The Clinton River is a 2-3 class river with a lot of exciting turns. Outdoor escorts(http://outdoorescorts.com/clinton_river.htm) offer boat tours all the way through the month of October.
